THE BEST ROUTE FOR HIKING IN Leh-Ladakh

Leh to Spituk to Zingchen ~20 km drive, ~5 km hike  Begin with a drive from Leh to Spituk. From Spituk, a short hike leads to Zingchen, passing through a lush green valley.

Zingchen to Yurutse ~12 km The trail ascends gently through the Hemis National Park, home to diverse wildlife, including the elusive snow leopard.

Yurutse to Skiu via Ganda La Pass ~20 km  Cross the Ganda La Pass (4,800 meters) with panoramic views of the Zanskar and Stok ranges, then descend to the village of Skiu.

Skiu to Markha  ~18 km  Walk along the Markha River, passing through beautiful landscapes and quaint villages. Markha is known for its ancient monasteries and picturesque fields.

Markha to Thachungtse ~15 km Continue through lush meadows and narrow gorges, with views of Kang Yatse peak.

Thachungtse to Nimaling  ~10 km  Trek through high-altitude pasture lands. Nimaling offers stunning views of the snow-capped peaks and is a popular grazing ground for local shepherds.

Nimaling to Shang Sumdo via Kongmaru La Pass  ~18 km  Cross the highest point of the trek, Kongmaru La Pass (5,260 meters), then descend through a dramatic gorge to Shang Sumdo.

Shang Sumdo to Hemis, then drive to Leh ~10 km hike, ~40 km drive  A gentle walk to Hemis, home to the famous Hemis Monastery. From Hemis, drive back to Leh, completing the trek.
